The NHL trade deadline is March 5. CSNNE.com Bruins insider Joe Haggerty says it's time for the B's to make a move.

After giving up five goals in their overtime loss to the Sabres on Wednesday, it appears the Bruins could use some defensive help.

"I think they need to make a move to have other options in case [young defenseman] Matt Bartkowski struggles," Haggerty told Bob Neumeier on SportsNet Central. "You need someone to play that second D-pairing if Barktowski can't get it done."

Andrew McDonald of the Islanders has been talked about, but the Isles want a top prospect in return and Haggerty said the B's aren't sold on McDonald.

One name to keep in mind, says Haggerty is Mark Giordano from the Calgary Flames.

"It would require more for the Bruins to get him, but he might make the Bruins a better team in the long run," Haggerty said.
