The Bruins have won eight consecutive games and have built a wave of momentum that's building towards the postseason.

Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty says the B's are exactly where they want and need to be.

"I see a team that’s out-scored their opponents 32-12," says Haggerty. "[I see] a team that’s the hottest team in the NHL right now; a team that has absolutely just blown apart the rest of the Atlantic Division and basically made a very soft cushion over the last month of the season."

The final weeks of the season will be all about playoff positioning.

"They’ve got the division sewn up," says Haggerty. "They’re either going to finish first or second. They can just start getting prepared for the playoffs. None of these games, these last 15 games in the season, really matter that much except as far as getting guys rest, keeping guys healthy and getting a look, maybe at some young players and some different defenseman combos before you hit the postseason."

The Bruins remained fairly quiet at the trade deadline, believing they had most of the pieces they needed for a playoff run. Over the last two weeks they've demonstrated the wisdom of that approach.

"It’s just gravy right now," says Haggerty. "They’re playing with house money, and they’re peaking at the exact right time in the season, towards the end, when you’re getting ready for the playoffs."
