It looks like David Krejci is going to be sticking around.
The Bruins locked up their center with a reported six-year contract extension on Wednesday.
Kevin Paul Dupont joined Sports Tonight to discuss what the deal means to the Bruins.
"They've identified their core, and they pay them all about the same," said Dupont. "Is he a $7 million player in today's game? Yes he is."
With the Bruins currently in a sticky salary cap situation, Dupont explains why an earlier trade paved the way for Krejci's deal.
"Had they kept Seguin, this would've been a tough signing in terms of fitting everything under the cap," he said. "So part of moving Seguin was looking forward to this day."
