WILMINGTON -- The roster is starting to fill out for the Boston Bruins as NHL training camp approaches, and the B's rookie camp commenced at Ristuccia Arena. Zdeno Chara, Dougie Hamilton, Chris Kelly and Milan Lucic were among the returning B's players, and they were joined by goaltending hopeful Chad Johnson.
The sight of Chara and Kelly at the B's practice rink on Wednesday was the first time that one of the team's captains was actually at "captain's practice."
The Bruins will continue the informal skates leading up to the Sept. 11 opening to NHL camp.
Johnson was signed by the Bruins as the favorite to back up Tuukka Rask after logging games with the Phoenix Coyotes and New York Rangers over the last couple of seasons. The Bruins were off the ice after an hour of skating drills, and the B's rookies took the ice at noontime to kick off the training camp for the Baby B's.
