The Bruins can stop answering questions about their Game 6 loss in the Stanley Cup Final after they open the season Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning at TD Garden.

The disappointing finish to last season is still fresh in their minds. When team president Cam Neely was asked if he watched the Blackhawks raise their Stanley Cup banner on Tuesday night, he said, "I did not watch. I would prefer to have our own [banner raising]."

That quest begins Thursday night and the Bruins' Milan Lucic said this group of Bruins is ready to get back to the Final.

"It was right there," Lucic said. "You know you've got the group that can get back there."

Patrice Bergeron said last year won't matter starting Thursday night.

"Last year left us with a bitter feeling," he said. "Like I said before, we're all the way back down the mountain now. We've got to climb our way back up."
