BOSTON – The Bruins announced another round of cuts on Thursday as the entire third practice group has been sent to Providence Bruins training camp. Colby Cave and Colton Hargrove have been assigned to Providence (American Hockey League). Andrew Cherniwchan, Max Everson, Matt Ginn, Max Iafrate, Eric Neiley and Frankie Simonelli have all been released from Bruins training camp, and will report to Providence Bruins training camp on Sunday, September 27.

In addition to the players being sent to P-Bruins camp, first round pick Zachary Senyshyn (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, OHL) and defenseman Jeremy Lauzon (Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, QMJHL) have been returned to their Junior clubs. Senyshyn played well in the Tuesday night win over the Washington Capitals and had some moments where he flashed the skating speed, but also pretty clearly needs to get a bit stronger and physically mature before he's ready for the NHL.

The cuts have seemed to come late in camp this year, and Claude Julien said that was a credit to the work done by each and every player in B’s camp thus far.

“It’s a credit to the quality of players we have. I don’t think I’ve been disappointed in necessarily anybody so far. So they’re deserving guys, but at the same time we’ve got to prepare here,” said Julien. “So you’re going to see probably the roster get cut down [soon]. I know Providence is starting Sunday as well, so that kind of gives you a bit of an indication there that some stuff will get done.”

The cuts leave the Bruins with 46 players still in camp, and both Dennis Seidenberg (back surgery) and Seth Griffith (sprained knee) out of commission with injuries that will keep them out for the duration of the preseason.
