The Bruins won’t officially open their NHL training camp until Sept. 11, but next week’s arrival of rookie training camp is the unofficial start to the year’s hockey calendar.

Bruins rookies and roster hopefuls will report to Boston for duty on Sept. 4, and then practice for two days before heading to Coral Springs, Fla. for three days of rookie games with the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators.

Traditionally the B’s rookies have remained local to train and scrimmage against an opposing NHL team’s crop of freshman, but this season will be a departure with the road trip to the Sunshine State. The Bruins originally trained a rookie training camp sojourn to Florida last fall, but that was, of course, wiped out by the NHL lockout – along with anything else prior to Jan. 19.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced the B’s rookie roster on Friday, and it consists of some familiar names headlined by goaltender Malcolm Subban, forward Ryan Spooner and gritty winger Anthony Camara. Spooner, Camara and Jared Knight might have an outside chance at competing for any open third-line roster spots with the big club when NHL camp opens in a couple of weeks.

Here is the complete B’s rookie camp roster...

Forwards: Anthony Camara, Mitchell Dempsey, Campbell Elyniuk, Alex Fallstrom, Justin Florek, Seth Griffith, Jayden Hart, Alexander Khokhlachev, Jared Knight, Matthew Lindblad, Wayne Simpson, Ryan Spooner, Maxime Villemaire

Defensemen: Mickael Beauregard, Chris Casto, Alex Cord, Tommy Cross, Jesse Lees, Steven Spinnell, Zach Trotman

Goaltenders: Adam Morrison, Malcolm Subban
