The Bruins have announced their 60-player roster for NHL training camp that kicks off Thursday at TD Garden with off-ice testing, and is followed on Friday by the first double session practice of training camp. The Bruins will open up the practice sessions on Saturday and Sunday (September 19 and 20) to the public at TD Garden (both start at 10 a.m.) as the only public camp practices at the Garden. Swedish goaltender Jones Gustavsson is the only player invited to camp on a PTO (Professional Try-Out Agreement), and joins 59 members of the B’s organization for a fast-moving camp that yields the first exhibition game on Sunday vs. the New Jersey Devils.
The roster is as follows, and does not include 32-year-old Lee Stempniak after the unrestricted free agent spent the last couple of weeks working out with the Bruins at captain’s practices held at Ristuccia Arena. It was a possibility he might make the cut along with the other Black and Gold hopefuls, and there’s still a chance he could be introduced to camp at a later date if injuries crop up among the 33-player forward group.
