DENVER – Johnny Boychuk was out on the ice for warm-ups, but he’ll have to wait at least one more night to make his return to the Bruins line. It appears Boychuk will miss his third game with a bruised right ankle as he wasn’t part of the line rushes in pregame warm-ups for the Bruins prior to their road game against the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center.

Matt Bartkowski will return to the lineup after sitting up in the press box for a one game respite against the New Jersey Devils following a rough night against the Wild just prior to the current road trip.

Chad Johnson and Semyon Varlamov were the first goalies onto the ice for pregame warm-up, and will get the respective starts for the Bruins and Avalanche. Johnson is 4-0-0 with a 1.50 goals against average and .940 save percentage in the month of March while Varlamov is in the Vezina Trophy conversation with a 34-13-5 record along with a 2.49 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

Otherwise it was the expected lineup of line combos and D-pairings for the Black and Gold against the Avs:

Lucic-Krejci-Iginla
Marchand-Bergeron-Smith
Kelly-Soderberg-Eriksson
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Chara-Meszaros
Bartkowski-Miller
Krug-Hamilton

Johnson
