The Bruins and their fans observed a moment of silence Thursday night as part of a stirring pregame salute to two Boston firefighters who died in massive blaze in the city's Back Bay on Wednesday.
Michael Kennedy and Lt. Edward Walsh were killed and 13 firefighters were injured battling the flames. Kennedy and Walsh's pictures were displayed on the video board at TD Garden, the Boston Fire Department logo was on projected on to the ice and a fire department color guard displayed the flags during Rene Rancourt's national anthem performance.
Also before the game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Bruins players wore Boston Fire Department caps in warm-ups.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who lives near the brownstone that burned, shared his thoughts in a radio interview on Wednesday as well.
