We knew it was going to be an honor for Patrice Bergeron after being selected as the cover boy for EA Sports’ NHL15 video game after a long, passionate voting process that pitted him head-to-head against P.K. Subban. But who knew it was going to bring out the comedic side of both the usually mild-mannered Bergeron? And unearth the sick vocal stylings of his linemate Brad Marchand?
EA Sports has released a pair of commercials for NHL15 starring the two Bruins forwards: one has Bergeron doing a cool cat poetry reading about his love for hockey, in the other Marchand sings a ballad about the video game that can best be described as Bryan Adams-esque.
Check both of them out below. The Marchand one isn’t much of a surprise given how much of a character and an extrovert he is, but I imagine the Bergeron performance must have been the final result of some serious coaxing from the commercial producers.
