The popularity of soccer is rapidly rising in the United States, especially with the World Cup just a day away.
That got Gary Tanguay thinking...
What will happen first, will soccer become a premier sport in the United States before the NFL becomes a premier sport in Europe?
Michael Felger joined Arbella Early Edition to weigh in.
"Soccer is already well ahead of football in Europe," said Felger. "The game against Ghana, the game on Monday, nationally is going to draw a rating that is close, if not a little bit more, than the NBA Final games we're watching."
"I know participation doesn't equal viewership, we found that out with soccer. But, there is some sort of translation, right? There's a billion kids here who play soccer, and that is going to help the sport in the U.S. Who the hell plays American football in Europe? Nobody."
