Argentina's #10 has been awarded the ADIDAS Golden Ball award, for being the best player during the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament. Subsequently Germany's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, was awarded with the Golden Gloves.
FIFA's decision of awarding an unsuspected Lionel Messi with the accolade, was met with skepticism by fans, who once more will hold the football governing body with contempt and doubt.
Manuel Neuer's recognition however was well deserved, as the Bavarian wall only conceded 3 goals during the whole World Cup, as he lead Germany to its fourth World Cup title and the first of a European country on South American soil.
