Although they ended up beating Ghana, pulled muscles and a broken nose nearly derailed the United State's strong start to the World Cup.

Dalen Cuff joined Sports Tonight to discuss the impact of the injuries going forward.

"They're important, they are very important," said Cuff. "It's going to change the way they play offensively. They might look at putting Dempsey up top… but you want to keep Dempsey involved as much as possible."

"If you have five or six days to sketch out how we're going to play differently, tactically, that will help them. Because right now, these injuries look pretty huge."
