Crawford's never-broken record

This morning on the site, Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely reported that shooting guard Jamal Crawford has opted out of his contract with the Blazers. Sherrod also suggested that Crawford might be a good fit in Boston.

And I agree.

Obviously, it will come down to money, but all things being equal, Crawford fills a few important needs for the Celtics. He can play both point and shooting guard, which is niceespecially if they lose Keyon Dooling. He can also stretch the defense, which is niceespecially if they lose Ray Allen. Let's be honest: The Celtics are going to be in the market for a veteran shooting guard to come off the bench, and Crawford has built a career on being just that.

He's only two years removed from winning Sixth Man of the Year.

Of course, because of that, you have to wonder if the Celtics and Crawford would ever find common ground on a contract. His deal with Portland was for 5M, so it's fair to assume he's looking for moreand for multiple years. Is that something that would interest the Celtics? Considering Crawford's allergy to defense and increasing age I don know.

But I do know this: If Crawford does find his way to Boston, he'll bring with him one of my favorite NBA records

Jamal Crawford is the NBA's all-time leader in four-point plays.

How many does he have? Well, one answer is 34.

Another answer: Enough to have his own three-minute Youtube video comprised of only four-point plays

Amazing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if the Celtics have what it takes (or even have the desire) to bring this four point freak show aboard.

If nothing else, it wouldn't take much for him to be the best Crawford in town.
