Did Danny push Doc Rivers out the door in Boston or did Doc walk away on his own?

(Phone rings in Danny Ainge’s Waltham office)

Ainge: Hello?

Woman’s voice: Please hold for Mikhail Prokhorov.

Ainge: Hello?

Prokhorov: I would like to speak to your Doc.

Ainge: Excuse me. Who is this?

Prokhorov: (silence)

Ainge: Hello?

Woman’s voice: You are talking to Mikhail Prokhrov.

Ainge: Oh, OK.

Prokhorov: I would like to speak to your Doc.

Ainge: Hey, Mikhail. Doc Rivers, you mean? About coaching the Nets?

Prokhorov: Tell me how to make this happen. This is possible, yes?

Ainge: Actually, no.

Prokhorov: Please hold.

(Prokhorov is heard whispering in the background: “What is this “no”? Oh, Hmmph.”)

That is very funny, Daniel. Tell me what we need to do. What do you like? Women? New cars? Speed boat?

Ainge: Listen, Mikhail. I understand why you would like to speak to Doc, but we’re not interested in allowing you to do that. We’re very happy with him as our coach.

Woman’s voice: Mr. Prokhorov has left the conversation.

Suddenly, there’s a knock on Ainge’s office door. He answers, only to find a small wrapped pastry box on the ground outside. The card on top reads:

Daniel, please enjoy the Pavlova.

This isn’t over.
