Forget Daniel Bard's bad month. The veteran closer has proven his worth and the Red Sox should re-sign him no matter what the situation is with Bard.

With Ryan Lavarnway recently called up to the Red Sox, it's safe to say the overall IQ of the locker room just went up. Lavarnway dabbled in physics and philosophy while at Yale, and is still interested in the subjects.

Daniel Bard was lights out for the majority of the season. And then August came, and he's slacked since. The Sox hope they can work out the kinks and get him back on track.
