After losing Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader, the Red Sox exploded offensively. It was clear they needed to at least split the games on Monday, and they did just that.

They may have dropped Game 1 of the doubleheader Monday, but the Sox responded by bashing 20 hits and scoring 18 runs in the 18-9 win over the Orioles.

Forget the pitching, it appears that if the Sox are going to get into the playoffs, it'll be due to their hitting. They showed that tonight in the 18-9 win.

Rookie Kyle Weiland wasn't sharp, and the Sox went down big early on. They tried to come back, but ultimately came up short in the 6-5 loss. Game 2 is Monday night.
