It's amazing what a change of scenery can do. Just ask Kevin Youkilis.
Youkilis -- traded by the Red Sox on June 24th to the White Sox -- was named the AL Player of the Week on Monday.
Since being acquired by the White Sox, Youkilis has hit .347 with three homers and 14 RBI in over 13 games.
Over the last week, Youkilis hit .478 (11-23) with three homers and 10 RBI over six games.
Hey Chicago, is it too late to call trade-backs?
In his 1-on-1 interview with CSN Red Sox Insider Sean McAdam, David Ortiz thanks Yankees fans, ahead of his final series at Yankee Stadium, for the motivation they’ve given him throughout his Red Sox career.
He expressed a similar sentiment in this post on The Players' Tribune website.
The Red Sox can clinch the A.L. East title for the first time since 2013, and do it at the home of their arch rivals, with a victory at Yankee Stadium tonight.
Left-hander David Price (17-8, 3.91) takes the mound with the Red Sox magic number at 1. A Sox win, or a Toronto Blue Jays’ loss to the Baltimore Orioles, will give Boston the division title.
Brock Holt gets the start at third and Andrew Benintendi is in left field against Yankees right-hander Luis Cessa (4-3, 4.30).
The Red Sox (92-64) have the best record in the A.L., just ahead of the Texas Rangers (92-65), who have clinched the A.L. West title.
