Yanks GM: Valentine a great hire for Sox

The ambivalence regarding the appointment of Bobby Valentine locally isn't shared by the Red Sox' biggest rivals.

They had a great manager in Terry Francona, and obviously when they made the decision to change there, they just replaced him with someone who is a great manager in his own right, Yankee general manager Brian Cashman said Friday.

Bobby will be all in with Boston. He knows how to manage. He knows how to do the Xs and Os. He will be more than prepared, as he always is hes one of the smartest people Ive come across in this game in my short time . . .

Boston is obviously a great opportunity for anybody, because you have a team that can win now and a manager that is experienced with media in big markets, so it seems like a perfect fit."

Rasheed Wallace shows KG his amazing Doc Rivers impression

Rasheed Wallace is a man of many talents. Playing basketball. Getting ejected. Helping the disenfranchised. Throwing towels. He’s a Renaissance man, really.

Oh, and apparently he does a spot-on Doc Rivers impersonation.

During a segment on Kevin Garnett’s “Area 21” TV show, Wallace not only brought attention to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, but was able to emulate the Los Angeles Clippers coach strikingly well. It came while Wallace was breaking down Rivers recent explosion and ejection from a game against the Brooklyn Nets, an outburst for which he was fined $15,000.
