Jessica Moran checks in with this week's edition of 3 Up, 3 Down.

3 UP:

David Ortiz

Ortiz continues to be a monster at the plate, and now on the bases. Earlier this week against the White Sox, Ortiz stole third base for the first time in his career.

The DH has 12 RBI in the last week, including four multi-hit games. He is now hitting .351 with eight home runs.

Perhaps most impressively, Ortiz has only struck out once since May 11th.

Daniel Nava

Nava has six multi-hit games in May and has boosted his average up to .299.

In the last week, Nava has homered and collected five RBI.

Andrew Miller/Koji Uehara

The Red Sox have benefited from strong middle relief for most of the season, but Miller and Uehara have stood out in the last week.

Both have strung together six straight scoreless appearances. Uehara now boasts a microscopic 1.93 ERA.

Ryan Dempster

Whether it's fatigue or just part of the ebb and flow of a season, Dempster has struggled in May.

The righty owns a 1-3 record with a 6.31 ERA this month.

In his last three starts, Dempster has allowed 15 earned runs, but more disturbing are the 10 walks in his last two starts.

Jacoby Ellsbury

Ellsbury has struggled throughout the season in every category except steals. He hasn't gone yard since April 7th and has only two extra base hits since April 26th.

The centerfielder has only three RBI this month and owns a .317 OBP - not the kind of numbers a team wants from its leadoff hitter.

Stephen Drew

After a recent hot streak, Drew has cooled off considerably.

Drew hasn't collected a hit in his last four games and has just one home run since May 6th.

Drew's is now batting just .212 on the season.
