BOSTON -- Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino was taken to a local hospital to get his ribs/back checked out, following Sunday's 12-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park, according to the team.

Victorino ran hard into the right-field wall on an Emilio Bonifacio two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning, which gave the Blue Jays a 5-0 lead.

He stayed down and was attended to for several minutes in front of the Toronto bullpen, but Victorino stayed in the game through the sixth inning. He even took another at-bat in the bottom of the fifth, flying out to end the inning.
