BOSTONThe Red Sox suffered their third straight loss, falling to the Orioles, 6-4 in the 13th inning.

Franklin Morales gave up two runs and was charged with the loss.

Jon Lester has been nearly untouchable by the Orioles throughout his career. He entered Friday nights game at Fenway 14-0 with a 2.36 ERA against them in 18 starts.

Despite his quality start and leaving with a one-run lead, Lester was not involved in the decision. Lester, who threw 122 pithces in his last outing, went just six innings and 99 pitches (60 strikes) in this one. He was not involved in the decision, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts. One of the hits was a home run to Mark Reynolds leading off the third. It broke Reynolds 76-at-bat homerless streak and gave the Orioles an early lead.

The Orioles entered the game with a .977 fielding percentage, worst in the American League. They demonstrated that early, with errors from three different fielders and a passed ball by catcher Ronny Paulino in the first two innings.

Cody Ross led off the bottom of the second with his first triple of the season, scoring on the passed ball. The Sox took the lead in the third when Adrian Gonzalez andDustin Pedroialed off with a single and double, respectively. Gonzalez scored on David Ortizs groundout, with Pedroia scoring on Ross sacrifice fly.

Baltimore tied the score in the fourth as Adam Jones walked, scoring on Matt Wieters triple. It was Wieters third career triple, first since 2010. Wilson Betemits single to center scored Wieters.

The Sox took the lead, 4-3, in the fifth when Will Middlebrooks doubled, went to second on Gonzalezs fly out, and scored on Pedroias single to center. It was Middlebrooks first big league run scored.

But Vicente Padilla entered in the seventh and loaded the bases with no outs. He escaped, though, giving up just one run.
