The people have spoken. And as a result, Freddie Freeman and Steve Delabar will be making their first All-Star game appearances next week in New York.

But what did New England think? MLB.com released their All-Star Final Vote distribution chart, showing who voted for who, county-by-county.

And tonight, with all precincts reporting, New England has made their pick. All 67 counties across the six states voted almost unanimously for Red Sox reliever Koji Uehara and Los Angeles outfielder Yasiel Puig.

Uehara, to the shock of few, won the AL vote fairly easy. He took all but seven counties throughout the region, sweeping New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The only state he didn’t win was Connecticut, where New York Yankees reliever David Robertson took five of the state’s eight counties. Long known as a Red Sox-Yankees swing state, Uehara won three counties on the Eastern half of the state (Windham, Tolland, New London). Outside the Nutmeg State, Uehara took all but two counties in New England, losing out to Robertson in Essex County (Vermont), and Detroit Tigers reliever Joaquin Benoit in Piscataquis County (Maine).

Uehara has made 41 appearances in 2013, allowing eight earned runs on 23 hits and 8 walks, while striking out 53 over 38 1/3 innings. He took over primary closer duties for the Sox in late June, saving five games in seven opportunities. He has allowed one earned run over 8 1/3 innings pitched, with an opposing BABIP (batting average of balls in play) of .167.

Puig won the NL vote in less of a landslide than Uehara. The 22-year old Cuban phenom won every state, taking all but 15 counties, though he received more than 50-percent of the vote in just ten of the 51 counties he won. The vote was unanimous in Rhode Island, and all but one county in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Tolland County (Connecticut) and Dukes County (Massachusetts) voted for Freeman.

For those who haven’t heard, Puig has burst on the scene since making his MLB debut on June 3rd, hitting .394 with eight doubles, eight home runs, 19 RBI, 27 runs scored and a 1.061 OPS in the first 35 games of his career.

Another popular vote was former Red Sox and current Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who won ten counties. In one of those counties, Essex County (Vermont), he received 100-percent of the vote. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t in God’s plan for Gonzalez to out-do his teammate Puig.
