From start to finish, John Lackey may have been Boston's most consistently solid starting pitcher. Should the Sox be confident in him when he takes on the Tigers in Game 3 of the ALCS on Tuesday afternoon?

"Confident he'll give you a competent start," said UNO Sports Tonight gues Kirk Minihane of WEEI, "but is he gonna match [Tigers ace Justin] Verlander at his best? No."

So it will be up to the Red Sox bats to do more damage than they've done against either Detroit starter they've faced through two games of this series. Then, maybe, the Red Sox bullpen can keep the Tigers lineup at bay long enough to give Boston a 2-1 series lead.
