BOSTON -- With Daisuke Matsuzaka starting on Saturday, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine was asked what he expects in that start, and as expected, Valentine said he doesn't know what to expect. All he knows is that they'll monitor him inning by inning.
"It's hard to know," said Valentine on Friday. "It's basically the anniversary. It's a year to the day, 365 days. And so it's hard to predict what's going to happen.
"I hope he throws strikes and I hope he has more than two pitches to do it with. I'd be happy if that happened."
