Talks continue between the Red Sox and Blue Jays over compensation for John Farrell, but it doesn't appear Toronto is going to drive too hard a bargain to keep Farrell as its manager.

Jon Heyman of cbssports.com, quoting a "person familiar with Farrell's situation in Toronto," reported: "The people there would charter a plane to get him out."

Farrell has one year remaining on the three-year deal he signed with Toronto, and the Blue Jays have yet to offer him an extension. The former Red Sox pitching coach is thought to be Boston's first choice to replace Bobby Valentine, though the Sox have also interviewed Dodgers third-base coach Tim Wallach, Padres special assistant Brad Ausmus, Yankees bench coach Tony Pena and Orioles third-base coach DeMarlo Hale for the job.
