According to multiple reports, former Red Sox pitcher Alfredo Aceves has signed a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles that includes an invitation to spring training.

USA Today reported that Aceves will make $1.2 million if he makes the big-league club and could make as much as $3 million.

Aceves started and pitched out of the bullpen during a tumultuous three-year run with the Red Sox. He was outrighted off the Boston roster last summer after going 4-1 with a 4.86 ERA in 11 outings. He was a versatile arm, and though his on-the-mound effectiveness was unpredictable, his clubhouse personality was even more so.

How will that play with old-school manager Buck Showalter in spring training? We'll see.
