Major League Baseball is set to get a new commissioner next season, and Red Sox fans are very familiar with one of the finalists for the position.

Red Sox chairman Tom Werner has emerged as one of three finalists to replace Bud Selig, and there will be a vote on the successor Aug. 14, according to USA Today.

The other two finalists are Rob Manfred, MLB's chief operating officer, and Tim Brosnan, MLB's executive vice president of business. In order for a new commissioner to be named, 23 of 30 owners must approve.

Werner is a co-founder and investor in Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Red Sox, Fenway Park, and 80-percent of New England Sports Network. FSG also owns Liverpool F.C. of which Werner is the chairman.
