According to the Boston Globe, Curt Schilling's gaming company 38 Studios has laid off its entire staff.
The founder of 38 Studios which got a 75 million loan guarantee from the state in 2010 met behind closed doors with Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee and the state's economic development agency on Monday.
Last week the company had asked the board for more money, but the state had not yet responded.
"We're working hard to protect every penny of the investment that was made," Chafee said after the meeting.
The company was more than two weeks late on a 1.1 million payment to the Economic Development Corp., and state officials said last week they had been told by the company that it wouldn't be able to make its payroll.
The company finally made the overdue 1.1 million payment to the EDC on Friday.
More to come. . .
