Red Sox minor league outfielder Alex Hassan will not be ready for the start of camp because of a stress fracture in his foot, according to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo.

Hassan was spotted wearing a walking boot during the team's rookie development program in January and explained that the boot was precautionary, the result of having fouled a ball off of his foot.

Hassan, 24, hit .256 with seven homers and 46 RBI in 94 games with the Pawtucket Red Sox last season. The Milton, Mass. native is the second outfielder who will be unable to play when position players report to Red Sox camp on Feb. 15; Ryan Kalish will reportedly be out for several months after recently undergoing shoulder injury.
