Police are investigating an apparent suicide aboard Red Sox owner John Henry's yacht, according to the Boston Globe.
Boston police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca said firefighters and police responded to the boat, Iroquois, docked at Rowes Warf for a medical emergency about noon.
From the Globe:
Fiandaca said they found a 28-to-30-year-old male in cardiac arrest. Efforts were made to revive the man, but he was later pronounced dead. Fiandaca said the man may have been working aboard the 164-foot-long vessel, which was docked at 30 Rowes Wharf, behind the Boston Harbor Hotel.
The Red Sox released a statement Monday afternoon:
Earlier today, a crew member on the vessel, M/Y Iroquois, apparently took his life aboard the vessel docked at 30 Rowes Wharf. Mr. Henry and the members of the Boston Red Sox are saddened by the news and send deepest condolences to his family.
Apparently only crew members were on board the vessel when the incident occurred.
