Red Sox recall Nava, who bats sixth tonight

The Red Sox have begun shaking things up, at least a little, and the shakeups are showing in tonight's lineup.

The Red Sox have recalled outfielder Daniel Nava from Pawtucket and he's playing left field, batting sixth. Reliever Clayton Mortensen has been set to the PawSox to open a spot on the 25-man roster, and Justin Thomas -- who was sent to Pawtucket recently -- was designated for assignment to make room on the 40, according to the Providence Journal.

As far as the lineup is concerned, the Mike Aviles-as-leadoff-hitter experiment appears to be over. He's been dropped to seventh in the lineup, with Ryan Sweeney moving into the top spot. The lineup:

Ryan Sweeney, RF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
David Ortiz, DH
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
Will Middlebrooks, 3B
Daniel Nava, LF
Mike Aviles, SS
Marlon Byrd, CF
Kelly Shoppach, CJosh Beckett, P
