The Stephen Drew-for-Jose Iglesias exchange wasn't the only roster move the Red Sox made today.
The team announced this afternoon that John Lackey would, indeed, be placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to April 7) because of the right biceps strain he suffered last Saturday in Toronto. To replace him, the Sox recalled reliever Alex Wilson from Pawtucket.
The Sox had already announced Lackey would miss his next start, though there were indications he might avoid the DL. According to reports, Lackey's "prognosis is good" after he underwent two medical examinations for the problem. However, the team apparently decided he would need at least two weeks to recuperate.
Wilson, 26, is 1-0 with a 10.12 ERA so far this year with the PawSox. He was the Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2011 season.
