FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Here's a look at some hobbled Red Sox players and their progress -- or lack thereof.

Andrew Miller - After throwing in a game for the first time in almost two weeks Friday night, Miller was waiting to see how his stiff elbow responded the following morning. According to manager Bobby Valentine, Miller felt fine.

Daisuke Matsuzaka - On Friday, Matsuzaka threw his first live batting practice session since undergoing Tommy John surgery. He, too, came through the test without any issues.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia - The Red Sox catcher has been battling some bursitis in his hip and has been held out of the last few Grapefruit League games. He got five at-bats in two minor league games Saturday afternoon, collecting two hits in the process.

"Salty had his at-bats and felt good about him,'' said Valentine. "Salty could catch (Sunday against the Rays in Port Charlotte.)''
Jose Iglesias - Iglesias has been slowed by a strained groin and was scratched from the lineup Friday night. Like Saltalamacchia, he got into a minor league game to test himself. He was 1-for-4 and Valentine said,

"Iglesias actually tried to run hard out of the box in his fourth at-bat,'' said Valentine, "and felt fine. I'll probably give him another day, but he think he'll be OK.''

Ryan Sweeney - Sweeney has missed a week with a pulled quad and probably only needs another day or so before being cleared to return to game action.
