Moments after announcing that Carl Crawford will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery, the Red Sox announce that they've relieved Bob McClure of his pitching coach duties.

The Red Sox pitching woes have been well documented this season. They rank 23rd in team ERA (4.30), 25th in quality starts (57), 16th in WHIP (1.30), and 16th in batting average against (.255).
