PHILADELPHIA -- The Red Sox officially announced their Opening Day roster Sunday, with little in the way of surprises.

The Sox roster breaks down like this:

CATCHERS (2): Ryan Hanigan; Sandy Leon

DH (1): David Ortiz.

INFIELDERS (5): Mike Napoli; Dustin Pedroia; Brock Holt; Xander Bogaerts;
Pablo Sandoval.

OUTFIELDERS (5): Hanley Ramirez; Mookie Betts; Shane Victorino;
Allen Craig; Daniel Nava.

STARTING PITCHERS (5): Clay Buchholz; Rick Porcello; Justin Masterson;
Wade Miley; Steven Wright.

RELIEVERS (7): Junichi Tazawa; Edward Mujica; Anthony Varvaro; Alexi
Ogando; Tommy Layne; Craig Breslow; Robbie Ross.

The Sox also announced two more DL moves, after placing Joe Kelly on the DL Saturday. The team places closer Koji Uehara (hamstring) on the DL retroactive to March 27. He'll be eligible to come off the DL on April 11, but the Sox will probably wait until April 13, the date of the home opener.

The plan calls for Uehara to throw batting practice at Fenway South in Fort Myers Tuesday, travel with the club's Single A Greenville affiliate Tuesday and throw batting practice there Tuesday and appear in a minor league game in Greenville Thursday.

Also going on the DL, backdated to March 29, is reliever Edwin Escobar with left elbow inflammation.

The team also assigned lefty pitcher Brian Johnson, catchers Luke Montz and Humberto Quintero, infielders Jeff Binachi and Jemile Weeks and outfielder Quintin Berry to minor league camp.
