Manny Ramirez is once again unemployed.
The former Red Sox slugger was released from his minor-league contract with the Texas Rangers on Tuesday.
"Based on our evaluation there was not a spot for Manny on the club at this time," Rangers GM Jon Daniels said in a statement. "We released him so he could pursue other opportunities."
Ramirez, 41, hit .259 with three home runs and 13 RBI in 30 games with Triple A Round Rock.
