FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Jake Peavy, who was held out for a while as he recovered from some inflammation in his right ring finger, threw live batting practice Monday.

"We feel like he's going to be right in line," said John Farrell.

Daniel Nava, meanwhile, didn't swing during batting practice, as he's still dealing with a sore neck which has been bothering him the last few days.

"It's just a minor little thing I'm working on," Nava said. "There's no point of going too fast and then all of a sudden we're set back two or three weeks. I've been out there for ground balls, throwing, shagging fly balls. The final step will be just getting swings down."
