The Baseball Show played a little game of Over/Under for Saturday's show. The first order of business: the number of deals the Red Sox will make at the trade deadline on July 31.
The line was set at 1.5, and Sean McAdam and Lou Merloni had differing thoughts on what the Sox will do.
McAdam has the Sox making one trade, but Andrew Bailey's injury that will likely keep him out for the season has Merloni thinking otherwise.
"I think there will definitely be a bullpen move, then I think there will be something else that surprises you," Merloni said. "Maybe if they get word on (Clay) Buchholz then maybe it's a starter. Maybe it's Michael Young at third bade. Who knows? But if Bailey had never got hurt I would've said one. Now I say two."
Also on Over/Under was the number of second-half starts for Buchholz at 9.5; the Red Sox margin of victory in the American League East at 2.5; and the number of AL East teams that make the postseason at 2.5.
