BOSTON -- David Ortiz was supposed to get four more at-bats with Triple-A Pawtucket today, but he's been scratched because of an illness.

Ortiz would have entered the game 3-for-7 with three RBI and two runs scored in two rehab games with the PawSox.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said before Boston's game against Tampa Bay on Sunday, that the reports have all been positive on Ortiz.

"I think you look at all things," said Farrell. "The production's going to tell you about timing, how he feels in the box, and so far so good. All the reports that have come out each day that he's played has been very positive.

"The last five to seven days, you could tell -- just in conversation with him and with what was taking place on the field -- that he was turning the corner, getting over the hump with this. I think he's really looking forward to getting back and joining this club."

As for when that will be, Farrell said that will be based on Ortiz telling them how he feels each day.

"We're anticipating his arrival," said Farrell. "When that is, we're going to work off of David on this one."
