When Shane Victorino went down to injury, Jonny Gomes has had to step up and see more playing time. Though he is hitting .178 with a .328 on-base percentage, Lou Merloni said on "The Baseball Show" that the 32-year-old outfielder provides a much-needed impact to the Red Sox on the field and in the clubhouse.
"He knows what it takes to win, he's been in winning clubhouses, the numbers might not be there, but there's an impact that he has to this team," Merloni said. "I think it's needed."
Merloni, Bob Neumeier and Steve Buckley talk about what Gomes brings to the organization in the video.
