Well, the 2014 Nick Cafardo Manager Rankings are officially out. Consider it his preseason managerial power rankings.

So, where does John Farrell rank? At the top! As the reigning World Series champion, Farrell jumped up more than 20 spots from last season.

But is he really the best manager in the game? That's obviously a debatable question, but Lou Merloni says that regardless of whether he's the best or not, he's the best for this Red Sox team.

"I would say after winning a World Series you'd have to put him up there," Merloni said. "And I think he should have been Manager of the Year . . . I do think that for this team he is absolutely perfect. Does he have everything figured out? I don't even think that even he'll say that. I think he's still inexperienced in that area . . . for this team he is absolutely effect. He has the respect from everybody. I think that in all of baseball, as long as you're in that top five as one of the best in the game, but John Farrell is definitely worthy of being in the top spot."
