Mazz: Farrell-to-Sox 'definitely not dead'

Tony Massarotti, 98.5 The Sports Hub radio host and boston.com columnist, has 'no doubt' the Red Sox will continue their pursuit of the Blue Jays' manager John Farrell.

"Farrell to the Sox talk is definitely not dead at all," Massarotti said. "All the Blue Jays did was make it clear to the Red Sox that they're not getting Farrell for nothing. For me that confirms that there's serious interest there."

And though Farrell is perceived as an old school, strongly opinionated manager, Mazz thinks that whoever replaces Terry Francona will be someone that is OK with ownership's involvement in how the team is run.

"They're going to look for somebody who's not gonna look for a lot of power and open to other people's ideas, which means someone who the front office can influence," he said. "They're not going to get someone with a strong personality here."
