Matsuzaka, Bailey get minor-league work in

A couple of banged-up Red Sox pitchers got some minor-league work in today.

Daisuke Matsuzaka started for the Pawtucket Red Sox and needed 75 pitches to work just 3-plus innings. He gave up four runs (though just one was earned) on five hits, one walk and one hit batter. He struck out three.

Andrew Bailey worked an inning for the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday. He gave up one run on three hits. He also struck out two and didn't walk a batter. He threw 23 pitches (16 strikes).
