When it comes to the Red Sox, no news is good news.
That's been the case with the Sox this spring training, unlike last year's.
John Lackey has lost some weight, which created a bit of buzz, but other than that it's been pretty quiet. Gary Tanguay, Lou Merloni, and Steve Buckley from the Boston Herald discuss the lack of hype coming out of Fort Myers.
"Number 1, they don't have Pedro, Roger, or Curt Schilling, who are three dynamic pitchers. Two of them will go to the Hall of Fame; Roger won't. And number 2 the team was so bad last season, and you could go back to September of 2011, a lot of fans go into this season with a wait and see approach."
Merloni agrees with Buckley, saying there's a lot more to be done before fans will get excited.
"They don't trust them," Merloni said. "They're waiting for them to fall on their face. They don't want to get burned again. They lost a lot of respect for these guys."
