Joel Hanrahan joins The Baseball Show to share his expectations for the upcoming year.
It's been great," said Hanrahan. "It's been pretty relaxed. I don't have to worry about lugging a helmet and a bat around to bunt so that's pretty good."
There probably won't be much call for Hanrahan to lay one down this season, but there will be plenty of other expectations for the new closer. Hanrahan joins what appears to be a formidable bullpen with a number of power arms, including a strong mix of veterans and youth.

The Red Sox would still host a Wild Card playoff game if the season ended today, but they are free falling down the standings.
It won't get any easier for them tonight against the Rays in the second of a three-game series. Xander Bogaerts is getting the night off and Marco Hernandez will start in his place.

The Boston Red Sox might be struggling, but they have two of the brighest prospects in baseball playing in the minors.
Yoan Moncada and Andrew Benintendi have been named to the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game rosters.
Moncada and Benintendi are teammates on the Red Sox Double-A affliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, but they'll be opponents when the game is played Sunday, July 10 at Petco Park in San Diego. Moncada was named to Team World, and Benintendi to Team USA.
Benintendi is hitting .264 in his 36 games with Portland, while Moncada is batting .296 in six games since being promoted from Single-A+ Salem.
The Red Sox made the demotion of Eduardo Rodriguez official on Tuesday, sending him to Pawtucket and recalling reliever Pat Light from Pawtucket.
Light was briefly with the Sox earlier this year, allowing two runs in one inning during a game in Atlanta in April. He has 2.05 ERA in 26 1/3 innings with the PawSox, with 13 walks and 32 strikeouts, and hasn't allowed a run in 12 innings, dating back to May 21.
