FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Outfielder Alex Hassan is scheduled for a follow-up MRI Thursday morning on his left foot.

He suffered a stress fracture when he fouled a ball off his foot in the offseason. Hassan also had an MRI on Feb. 4, but had to return to Boston for the procedure. This time, the MRI will be done in Fort Myers.

While he has been unable to play, Hassan has been on the travel roster for several games, including Wednesday night's against the Orioles.

“It’s good,” he said, “to go to the games and be in the dugout and pick guys’ brains. [First base coach] Arnie Beyeler [who managed Hassan in Triple-A Pawtucket last season] is a great one to talk to and pick his brain.”
