The Red Sox lost Game 3 in heartbreaking fashion as Jose Lobaton hit a walkoff home run off Koji Uehara in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Rays a 5-4 win.

The Sox had just come back to tie things up in the top of the 9th after going down a run in the bottom of the 8th.

Despite the loss, though, members of the team were keeping the right attitude and remaining confident after the game.

Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes spoke with CSNNE after the game on Playoff Central.

"One of the hardest things to do in this game - playoffs, regular season, anytime - is to sweep," Gomes said. "A win tonight would have been a sweep. When the other team absolutely has their back on the wall, and not so much Game 7 when it's both ways, but especially in the playoffs when a team has its back against the wall, they pull out all the tricks. And especially when you're at home you have a little bit of an advantage.

"We're still in the driver's seat. I like where we're at. We played good ball. We came back off Fernando Rodney. That's one of the better closers in the game, and we battled for a run right there. Unfortunately we couldn't get up in the top of the [10th] inning but I think we're all right."

The Sox will get another shot to close out the Rays Tuesday night.
