"I have never been more disappointed in my life with a Red Sox team. Even going back to the '60s, the pre-'67 teams, when they were bad and you knew they were bad. This isn't a bad team. It's just playing bad baseball."
Well, what about the individual players? Some of them must be having good years, right?
"The one guy on this team who's having a truly great season is David Ortiz. And what does he do? He whines and caterwauls last week about how embarrassed and humiliated he was to accept a 15 million, one-year contract with the Red Sox. That doesn't put the team concept first, folks."
Wow. So what about the second half?
"We're this close to not talking about them at all . . . They are teetering on the brink of irrelevancy."
